Our president, Violet Gutiérrez, recently attended the CASBO Annual Conference in Orange County. The Eastern Section conference featured governance and leadership in professional development for school business leaders. CASBO, the California Association of School Business Officials, is a resource for learning best practices for public school professionals.

Violet’s presentation focused on charter school overview, including the fiscal responsibilities that come along with running a charter school. Authorizers must oversee the financial viability of a charter school, along with the educational goals of a school.

CCAP is developing tools and providing training sessions geared toward strengthening an authorizer’s abilities to conduct quality charter school oversight.
