SSDA-CCAP Collaborative
The vast majority of California’s 337 charter school authorizers are small and rural school districts that oversee a handful of charter schools. Because of their size and location, these authorizers face unique challenges.
Through this partnership, CCAP has developed a collaborative network of professionals to provide these districts with authorizing resources, professional development, and technical support tailored to their individual needs.
The Small School Districts’ Association (SSDA) and the California Charter Authorizing Professionals (CCAP) are proud to announce the creation of a new Collaborative on Charter Authorizing, an opt-in program of free, convenient training and support to help school districts and county offices strengthen their charter school authorizing and oversight practices.
Participating districts and county offices simply sign up for five 45-minute trainings, in person or virtual, followed by a one-time consultation to review your current authorizing practices and where you can ask questions or get further assistance.
The five short trainings will address:
1. Taking Stock of Your Authorizing Situation
2. Financial Oversight and Fraud Prevention
3. Academic Oversight and Public Policy Purposes
4. Operational and Governance Oversight
5. Putting Things All Together: Your Authorizing Action Plan
