Register Now for CCAP’s 2023 California Charter School Authorizers Conference!

June 13-16 at the Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa near Palm Springs

CCAP’s Charter School Authorizers Conference is less than 6 weeks away!

Nothing says summer is here like taking a few days to recharge among colleagues with breathing room to discuss strategies for strengthening authorizing practices — through relationship building, learning about new regulations, taking a deep dive into key issues, and having time to think creatively about the next steps to help all children succeed.

CCAP’s 2023 California Charter School Authorizers Conference offers all that and more with engaging plenary sessions, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and role-alike meetings with colleagues who wear the same professional hats.

Experts and Hot Topics
Authorizers, authors, educators, charter school board members, and county and district staff will share their knowledge and ideas about the paramount issues in authorizing today. Just a few highlights:

• Program strands on the academic, fiscal, legal, and policy aspects of authorization
• Keynote speaker Steve Rees, founder and leader of School Wise Press and co-author of the new book Mismeasuring Schools’ Vital Signs: How to Avoid Misunderstanding, Misinterpreting and Distorting Data
• Friday breakout sessions on different facets of renewals, followed by a plenary session sharing out the results of the breakouts
• A plenary session on the latest California education policy and political outlook on charter schools and authorizing
• An update on the work of the broad-based state Anti-Fraud Task Force convened by CCAP to develop recommendations to deter, detect, and prosecute fraud
• A special session on the right way for authorizers to oversee a dependent charter school
