CCAP conducted a webinar on Key Authorizer Updates, September 16th, 2020. The webinar featured the following speakers and an open discussion session:
- Ed Sklar, Partner, Lozano Smith, Attorneys at Law, provided a refresher on recent changes in the law affecting authorizers that went into effect this summer while everyone has been focused on COVID-19 challenges;
- Dr. Corey Loomis, Charter Schools Director, Riverside County Office of Education, and CCAP Vice President, discussed authorizer oversight challenges during COVID-19, including the upcoming September 30 deadline for LEA Learning Continuity and Attendance Plans; and
- Debi Deal, School Business and Finance Consultant and CCAP Treasurer, reviewed important fiscal developments and requirements including COVID-19 relief funds.
CCAP’s new Executive Director, Tom Hutton, also shared a few brief CCAP updates.
