Extending a great partnership!
CCAP is pleased to announce that we have extended our strategic partnership with our friends at the Small School Districts’ Association (SSDA) for two more years!
Thanks to the generous support of the U.S. Department of Education’s Charter Schools Program and the Charles and Helen Schwab Foundation, all SSDA members automatically are members of CCAP and are entitled to all our services and resources.
Nearly 60 percent of California’s charter schools are authorized by small school districts, defined as those with fewer than 2,501 students. Small authorizers generally have fewer staff members, resources, and time to dedicate to charter authorizing and monitoring.
SSDA members will receive resources and training specific to their unique needs, including:
- Expert consultation on key concepts and areas of focus in charter authorizing, such as academic, financial, governance/management, and public policy.
- Priority access to all CCAP training.
- Authorizer training at the annual SSDA conference.
- Significant discounts on paid CCAP events like the California Charter School Authorizers Conference.
We’re also cooking up a variety of collaborative efforts to make sure that California’s smallest authorizers have the support and professional community they need to do the job with confidence and quality.
