In 2026, charter school authorizers, charter schools, auditors, and other partners will need to comply with new state requirements for charter school oversight expected to be enacted through the omnibus education budget trailer bill. The new rules address charter school oversight, auditing, funding, average daily attendance, and more. Some requirements may be phased in but some will be effective immediately. There are likely to be complications, costs, and unanswered questions for everyone.
In September and October 2026, CCAP will present several local, in-person training sessions around the state for charter school authorizers and other interested stakeholders on implementing the new requirements. The trainings also will identify unanswered questions, suggest strategies, and gather feedback from the field on continuing implementation and charter oversight challenges.
The training schedule and registration will be posted on this page. In the meantime, if you would be interested in participating in a training in your area, or a have a suggestion for where you would like a training to be held, please submit this short interest form so we can follow up with you.
