Lawsuits are on the rise against charter schools throughout the country raising questions over religious-based charters, local vs. state oversight, and whether charter schools are public or private and therefore, not entitled to state funding. CCAP Executive Director Tom Hutton said: “The U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority could foreshadow a ruling on these questions that significantly departs from recent precedent.
