English Learners Toolkit: Guidance for Charter School Authorizers
Federal legislation and court cases have put more responsibility on authorizers to hold charter schools accountable for ensuring that English learner students have equal access to schools and once enrolled, have the support necessary to be successful in school. This Toolkit explains what charter schools must do to comply with these regulations and provides examples of authorizers that have developed comprehensive policies for charter schools EL programs that are part of the petition and renewal process.
